Zalmon Wildman receipt books, 1818-1836.

Zalmon Wildman kept receipts for items he purchased for his household and a second receipt book for the firm Wildman & Starr, hat manufacturers of Danbury, Connecticut. His household accounts included paying for having a stone wall made, painting Seymour Wildman's store, surveying land in New Fairfield, buying a tomb stone, and town and highway taxes. He also paid an annuity to Seymour Wildman's widow, Ann. The second volume, marked "W. & S." on the cover, documented the receipt of 195 pounds of wool for wool hats, paying freight costs, taxes, and purchasing boards (lumber). Wildman's partner was Ezra M. Starr who married Harriet Wildman.
